Earlier last year I got to do a remote recording session for my friend Lawrence Pi! Lawrence is an active freelance musician in LA, plays in the Disneyland Band, and also can be found sharing the stage with a band called Los Stellarians. I met Lawrence on my first tour with The Family Crest when we played at the Bootleg Lounge in LA.

Since this session, Lawrence has released a couple other EP’s which can be found at his Bandcamp page.

Winter EP

Lawrence is a Jazz Saxophone player by trade, but wanted to challenge himself to write singer-songwriter style music.  Here is some background on the project via his Facebook:

If you are interested in some live drum tracks for your music I love to collaborate with other musicians.  When I am not touring/ playing local gigs I am available to record drums.  I have a fully equipped home recording studio and a large collection of drums and cymbals to meet the needs/tones of your project.  I am always interested in recording projects either in the studio of your choice or via the internet.

We just got back from the second leg of “The War: Act 1” tour!  A huge thank you to everyone who came out to a show, said hi after we played, purchased any piece merch, and for all of the local openers who played before us!

Next on the agenda (besides some local freelancer dates for me) is the Same Same But Different Music Festival in Lake Perris, CA.

After this festival I’ll be playing with The Family Crest at the annual Hardly Strictly Blue Grass Festival here in San Francisco on Oct 6th!  More details to follow.  Admission is free – get there early for better seats; don’t forget a chair, water, and sunscreen!
